How to use this estimate
Find the mixed yield on the product data sheet. Equal-weight bags from different product ranges need not have identical yields. Standard QUIKRETE Concrete Mix lists approximately 0.30, 0.375, 0.45 and 0.60 ft³ for 40, 50, 60 and 80 lb bags respectively. Enter the appropriate value for your actual product; this tool is not limited to those sizes.
The calculation
A worked example
One cubic yard is 27 ft³. At 0.6 ft³ per bag and 10% extra, 29.7 ÷ 0.6 = 49.5, so buy 50 bags.
If your required volume already includes waste, set the allowance to 0% to avoid counting it twice. Mixing water does not equal mixed concrete yield.
Common questions
Can I use a 25 kg bag?
Yes. Enter the mixed yield in litres from its label in metric mode. Do not enter 25 as a volume merely because the bag weighs 25 kg.
