YOUR ESTIMATE

Enter your measurements and select Calculate estimate.

Planning estimate only. Confirm the product’s coverage and your measurements before ordering.

How to use this estimate

Measure length and width on the ground and enter the intended loose layer depth. Weight is derived from your density input; gravel type, grading and moisture change the result. A supplier may quote loose volume, compacted volume, metric tonnes or US short tons, so confirm the basis before ordering.

The calculation

Volume = length × width × depth × allowance factor. Tonnes = volume in m³ × density in kg/m³ ÷ 1,000.

A worked example

A 10 × 10 ft area at 4 in depth is 1.2346 yd³. With 10% extra it is 1.3580 yd³, or about 1.6613 metric tonnes at 1,600 kg/m³.

Weight is in metric tonnes (1,000 kg), not US short tons. The default density and allowance are examples, not a geotechnical specification.

Common questions

Does this include delivery?

No. Material cost uses your entered unit price. Add delivery, tax, access charges and minimum-order fees from the supplier.
