How to use this estimate
Use actual face dimensions and confirm how many pieces come in a pack. This conservative area estimate ignores the small area of joints and does not produce a laying pattern. Mixed-size kits are better estimated using their advertised pack coverage rather than one representative paver size.
The calculation
A worked example
A 10 × 10 ft patio using 4 × 8 in pavers needs 495 pavers with 10% waste. At 100 pavers per pack, buy 5 packs.
Base aggregate, bedding sand, edge restraints, drainage, jointing material and compaction are separate. This tool does not design a load-bearing pavement.

Can I estimate a mixed-size paving kit?
